Our facilities are climate controlled, equipped with a surveillance system, and security and alarm network . We have tried to do everything within our ability to provide a safe and secure home during your absence. Each bird is housed in it's own spacious enclosure which is thoroughly cleaned daily. Your pet will be fed it's usual diet as well as appropriate snacks. Every guest is under the watchful eye of our conscientious, well trained staff and we have a full time consulting avian veterinarian available. In the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill or injured while in our care, and the owner is unavailable for consultation, your pet will be placed under the care and supervision of our veterinarian. All medical expenses will be the responsibility of the owner. Each bird is evaluated with the owner at check-in to insure a comfortable stay. Should our staff determine that a bird is unfit it will not be accepted for boarding. For the safety of your bird you must bring it in a clean, appropriate carrier or travel cage which we may not be able to store. We request that you bring an adequate selection of toys to keep your feathered friend amused or you may purchase them at the store. Please advise us if you would like to have your bird groomed prior to pick-up. To expedite check-in you may register online by going to the Boarding Registration Form. For those boarding their pet more than 10 days a 50% deposit is required. At this time no reservations are required.You will be pleased to know that our customers report that their pets experience less separation anxiety when surrounded by other birds, this ensures that upon your return you have a happy/healthy pet. Grooming: Wing Clipping The purpose for wing clipping is to prevent flight but rather to insure that your bird is incapable of upward lift or sustained flight. In most household environments wing clipping is recommended for safety reasons. The procedure is painless and the primary feathers will grow back when the bird has its next molt. Proper restraint will be necessary and specific circumstances may require different solutions. Each individual birds physical and behavioral characteristics will determine how severe the clipping must be. You will greatly reduce stress and trauma by having the wings clipped by an avian specialist or your avian veterinarian.
